The Center for Environmental Geology and Cartography addresses its activities towards the sectors of mining activities, construction, water management and certain industrial activities focused on exploitation of natural resources
The main objectives of the Centre are:
- Transfer of technology tosmall and medium companies (‘PIME’).
- Training in the areas of applied geology (soil mechanics, surface and ground water resources, geological hazards) and its relevance in environmental decision making,
- Research-oriented technologies and methodologies for geotechnical studies and soil mechanics applied to civil engineering and public works, finding new methods for diagnosis, management and exploitation of natural resources (natural aggregates, groundwater), the use of new technologies in the subsurface characterization (geophysics) and prevention of natural hazards and environmental
- Assesment, studies and services to companies and administrations.
